Senior people stay involved
We do not separate sales from delivery.
The people who understand the problem, shape the architecture and make the important technical decisions remain involved throughout the engagement.
About
su.engineering is an independent product and engineering studio focused on technically difficult software.
We work with companies, system integrators, enterprise teams and research consortia on problems involving digital identity, privacy, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, distributed systems and complex product engineering.
We also build our own products and maintain open-source software. That combination is intentional.
Client work keeps us close to real operational problems. Our own products force us to live with the consequences of our technical decisions. Open source keeps part of our engineering visible and reusable.
We do not separate sales from delivery.
The people who understand the problem, shape the architecture and make the important technical decisions remain involved throughout the engagement.
We maintain a small senior core and assemble additional engineering capacity around the needs of each project.
Depending on the work, that can include software engineers, identity specialists, security engineers, penetration testers, compliance specialists and infrastructure experts from a trusted network.
We do not sell a preferred stack. We choose architecture and technology according to the product, the constraints and the environment.
Sometimes that means distributed infrastructure. Sometimes it means local processing. Sometimes it means a conventional backend and database. The goal is to solve the problem well, not to justify a technology.
When a project contains an important technical unknown, we prefer to test it before building everything around it.
We enjoy working with emerging technologies, but the outcome should move toward something that can be implemented, demonstrated, integrated or operated.

We assemble teams around the work instead of maintaining a large generalist bench. For clients, that means direct access to senior people and a delivery team shaped around the actual problem.

About Klangfarbesu means water in Turkish and fire in Basque. Two opposites held in one syllable: precision and fluidity, security and openness. The studio is based in Bilbao.
If the software is technically ambitious, unfamiliar or difficult to fit into an existing team, we should probably talk.
